Tyre bead wire is used for the manufacture of all types of pneumatic tyres, such as tyres for Trucks, Buses, Tractors, Cars Jeeps, Scooters, Rickshaws, Motor Cycles, Bicycles etc. The main function of tyre bead wire is to act as a reinforcement to the rubber and help to get a proper grip of tyre on the rim.Aarti Steels Limited is in a position to manufacture the entire range of tyre bead wire, viz. 0.70 mm to 2.00 mm. The steel is made in an Electric ARC Furnace, refined in Ladle Furnace at Aarti's ARC Furnace Division and is cast into Billets on a most modern billet casting machine. A comb type ELECTROMAGNETIC STIRRING EQUIPMENT is used to get uniformity in billets. The billet, after inspection, are rolled into wire rods in a modern wire rod mill. The wire rod is stelmor cooled to achieve the required metallurgical properties. The wire rods are inspected and tested for tyre bead quality. The suitable wire rods are drawn, patented and processed to the finished size and bronze-coated in a modern coating line. They are re-spooled on a high-speed re-spooling machine to get straight casting.
The basic properties of 0:965 tyre bead wire are given here under: | Chemical Composition : | | | | Carbon | Manganese | Silicon | Sulphur | Phosphorous | | 0.60 to 0.70 % | 0.50 to 0.80 % | 0.15 to 0.35 % | 0.03 % Max | 0.03 % Max | To ensure the quality of finished wire, tramp elements, center line segregation, inclusions, dissolved gases are controlled to minimum level in steel. | | Wire Diameter: Wire is manufactured circular in cross-section and it's diameter is controlled in the tolerance limit of 0.965+0.025 mm. or as per customer's specifications.
Breaking Load: The breaking load (under tensile load) or load necessary to rupture the wire specimen (sample) is controlled to minimum 132 kgs. Higher values of Breaking Load are maintained as per customer's specifications.
Torsion Numbers: The torsion nos. of the wires are controlled to 58 minimum, at a gauge length of 200 mm.,or as per customer's specifications.
Percentage Elongation: The percentage elongation at 250 GL is maintained minimum 5% at Breakage. Higher values can be maintained as per customer's specifications.
Reverse Bends: The wire withstands a minimum of 10 Nos. of 1800 bends on a jaw of radius 2.50 mm. Higher values of reverse bends are maintained as per customer's specifications.
Bronze Coating: Wires supplied is having a coating weight of 0.3 gms./kg. to 1.50 gms./kg as per customer's requirements. The tin content is approx. 3% of total bronze coating weight.
Resin Coating: A resin coating is applied over the coated wire to preserve its lustre.
Straightness: A 3-metre long sample of wire laid on a smooth flat surface lies flat between two parallel lines 600 mm apart; no part of the wire is 1 inch above the flat surface.
Adhesion Test: This test is carried out as per the procedure given by the customers - using their rubber compound.
Reel-less Coins Dimensions: The wire is supplied in reel-less coils in the following conditions:
Coil weight : 400 to 480 kgs. Overall diameter : 700 to 720 mm Diameter of core : 379.5 mm Width of strapped coil : 290 to 300 mm Core inside diameter : 355.5 to 361.5 mm
Packing : Paper,Polythene,Hessian cloth. Wire in packing as per customer's requirements can be supplied. The wire is exported in pallets.
